Join us to sing Handel's Messiah
We are extending an invitation to aspiring singers to join with Fernhurst Choral Society for the 2026 Autumn term. During this time we will rehearse the choruses of Handel's Messiah, culminating in a performance with orchestral accompaniment and professional soloists at St Paul's Church, Chichester on the 28th November. Rehearsals will take place on Mondays from 7th Sept 2026 and the programme will complete with the performance on the 28th November. We rehearse in Fernhurst Village Hall, Glebe Road, Fernhurst, GU27 3EH, from 8.00pm to 9.45pm.
We welcome all singers, and there is no audition to join. Being able to follow a score is an advantage as the Messiah has its complexities and there is a lot of it! However if you can sing in tune, and carry a tune, you will be fine.
The subscription for this single term membership will be £50 (NUS members £30). Our subscriptions pay for score hire, rehearsal venue hire and the salaries of our two professionals, MD Tim Ravalde and accompanist George Haynes. Where else can you have this much fun for less than £2/hour?
